30 Day Challenge

One of my favorite bloggers, "Becoming Fit at Fifty" is having a 30 day challenge for May 2008 which is a 'Clothing Challenge'. If you have an clothing, pants or a top, that are too tight or don't fit at all, take a picture of you with that clothing and send it to 'Becoming Fit at Fifty' see the blog for email. Comment to her blog, if you are in or not.

I know it only takes a couple of day to down size a size but to keep it off for 30 days is a challenge for yourself. There are so many temptation of deserts like ice cream alone is a killer to only have a single scoop. So, lets get fit and get in those dusty jeans out of the bin or your spring dress from the webby closet. Join us at "Becoming Fit at Fifty" blog and lets down size.

Here is my picture, wearing my taky half jeans. I had to lie on my bed just to button my button and the zipper only goes so far before it is ready to bust.

This challenge is a great motivation for me to get to my goal this June. I want to thank 'becoming fit at fifty' for bring my attention to move forward in my life that I can do this. Thanks

Lazy Weekend

From all the hard work and craziness going on this week at work, I decided I needed the weekend off to relax and don't worry about life.

It's good once a while to give yourself a day off from work and life. I went out for a picnic to a park near by, ate a 6" turkey and roast beef sub with root beer (I only drink one can of soft drink once a month cause of the sugar and it makes me wild up). Watch a couple of movies like "Juno" which I thought it was a good story. Also, "Becoming Jane" which it was hard to understand with the English talk but I like it and yes, I did cried at the end.

On how life is treating us, like high taxes, gasoline priced are rising, work is too hard and everything else is going to FAST, take a moment to breathe, take a walk in the woods or a park, listen to what is around you and break away and just breathe. You will thank me for it. Everyone deserves to take a break from realty.

It's Friday - Finally!

OMG - It's Friday! I'm soooo busy today at work, I don't have time to play on the Internet. With my greatest apology, I can't put up an article today except I'm busy. BUT don't you worry, I will do my exercise and still keep making good choices on my diet.

Please, forgive me. I'll be back tomorrow with a tip on weight loss. See ya, if I make it thru the day.

Weigh In = Gain 2 lbs.

I feel that I'm never going to leave the 300-teens poundage. Up and down, the scale goes. Frustrated, Sad and Tried. Never ending story for these couple of weeks. UGH.

But I (you) (we) got to keep moving, inspiring and having a positive attitude to keep being healthy and living happy. I know that I must move more, push myself to do more rather than sitting on the couch and watching my late night TV. I should be doing more walking. NO more eating out, cook my meals inside. Press forward and never say gain. Think about my Goal (loose 30 lbs. before June). I still have time to meet my goad and I'm going to motivate myself to do it.

Pantene - Beautiful Lengths

Being a cancer victim, I came very close on board to a life changing situation, but I caught my disease at a early time. I had uterus cancer last year and the cancer didn't spread to my major organs. I had to have a fully hysterectomy surgery and internal radiation. It was the roughest 6 months of my life and I had to overcoming the situation I can't have kids. I'm still not out of the loop, just yet, it can still come back but I'm going to fight it all the way. Today, cancer is becoming an outbreak disease like the flu. Small or big situation, everyone has a little bit of cancer cells in their body, but I didn't know, at highest rate that heavy weight people can get it even it is not in her family history.

When I was there at the hospital, there were a lot of other people doing the fully radiation and they say that the hardest, emotional thing is loosing your hair as a women. Pantene Hair Products has a promotion to cut your hair at 8 inches long and donation to create free wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment. When I went thru internal radiation, they told me that my hair will be OK but I did loose more then some. I felt scared, frustrated and sad. I mean beside loosing my women hood of having children, I was loosing some of my dignity.

I have been growing my hair for about one year and I think next year, it will be long enough to share to those who need a little self-esteem. My Aunts, Cousins, my Dad and everyone else who had/has cancer that you can contribute a small piece of your heart, HAIR, and help someone fight for their strength to live a little better in our fight of cancer. 30 Minutes of Exercise - That All

Most of us hate, dislike or really don't want do to exercise. It sometimes feels like a chore in life that we all have to do. Remember the days, when our mothers or fathers gave us a job chore to do when we were young like take out the garbage or do the dishes. We hated to get up and move our bodies and do the chore. It interrupts our daily life and what we like to do.

Well, TODAY, NOW, as adults, we do our chores automatically because it's a must. We still don't like to do them but you can have FUN with it. There are so many different exercise out there. Try one and see it you like it, then stick with it.

For me, I always want to try 'Tia-Chi'. I like it, a lot. It relaxes me with my stress and nerves and gives me a work out, too.

Challenge yourself to move more. Extend your exercise an extra 5 minutes every other day, when you get comfortable on what you are doing now. Put different exercise routine in your exercise on every other day. Walk your dog on Monday & Wednesday and on Tuesday & Thursday go to the gym. Different routine will keep you motivated to continue.

Celery

Best snack ever is peanut butter and celery - less than 100 calories per stick with pb.

When you are stress or nervous about something, have a stick of celery. Celery will help calm you nerves due to the rich calcium content. In traditional medicine, it's the seeds that are specifically recommended that why you might see some celery seeds and dry celery's leaves in tea. Japan is more familiar with this in their diet and teas.

My grandma had arthritis in her hands, knees and elbow. She always made home recipe - celery tea made of the seeds. 4 cups of water, 2 Tablespoons celery seeds, 2 Tablespoons parsley flakes. Cook in a old pot (the pot will smell after this) to boil, when done boiling after 3 minutes, sits a side to cool, strain the seeds and flakes and put in the ice box. In a month after having 2 shots a day (everyday), you will start feeling relief from your arthritis. If you are really bad have 3-4 shots everyday. It might taste awful but in the long run it will be worth it.
