Senior Production Designer

FINALLY, I made senior, 'Sr. Production Designer'. It has been over due of 13 years working for this company and they finally they realize my title was old. I worked my butt off for this company by staying late hours, helping other employees doing their duties, upgrade and learning software on my time and so on... It make me wonder, WHY I did get it earlier? Was it because I'm over weight and not attractive enough with a skinny butt. My co-workers are skinny as a rod and they get pretty much anything they want and they are not good at their jobs. Most of the time, I'm helping or doing their job cause they give an accuse that they are busy home with a husband and kids. It's not fair. Our society is just WRONG. It's not fair or right to be treated like this but the world and media made us this way and its just too hard to change it.

OK ... sorry I just need to vent out. Have you have been treated wrong way from anything?

Go To the Movies

There are so many great movies coming out to theaters this year. Like the Mummy 3, Hellboy 2, The X-Files 2, Step Brothers, Eagle Eye and many more (check out my other blog: http://gotomovies.blogspot.com ).

It's is very hard not to go for the popcorn with butter or the king size candy bar which is 800 calories (with those calories, that's your dinner, if not more). So, I would suggest to go for a mix of pretzels, almonds (nuts) or raisins. Skip the soda or pop and get the water bottle.

I usually bring an empty brand water bottle and fill it up at their water fountain instead of buying it there at a price of gallon of milk. To a movie drive-in, you could bring fruit like grapes or an orange or maybe bring a granola bar which is satisfying cause of the fiber. My mom always brings hard candy to suck on like sugar free - its cool and refreshing. What do you bring to the theaters?

Supermarket Savings

Here is a few tips to save at a supermarket:

1. Scoop out for the coupons. coupon.com and your newspaper have great source of coupon savings. Also, you can call the manufactors of your favorite snack or food and ask them if they would kindly mail or email you some coupon savings. Just say that how you love the product and you would not like to go to their competoors that are less in value.

2. Plan your meals. Know exactly what you're going to need for the week or few days.

3. Make a list. Get exactly on the list, don't go off the list. While you are making a list, check each store paper and see which one is cheaper in price. You don't want to pay regular price if the store down the block is on sale.

4. Store brands. Buying store brands might be a few cents cheaper but it can really add up but be carefully and still the label on the food for fat and calories percentage.

5. Lastly, shop more. Don't buy too much food and if you eat it cause you went out with friends and your food that you just bought to bad and then you have to throw it away - that just throwing money in the trash. If you pass a food store from work, stop in and shop only 3 day of food at a time.

Most of all "NEVER GO TO THE STORE HUNGRY"

Sunscreen

It's about that time to wear your sunscreen block. More than 1 million people in the US will be diagnosed with skin cancer this year and the number increases over the past 10 years. Sunscreen is very important than ever with our weather going out of wack. It is very hard to know what to buy in sunscreen today with all the confusing labeling.

Just remember to look for:
1. SPF 30 or higher for the best protection
2. At least 7% zinc oxide or titanium dioxide for the broad spectrum protection

Avoid:
1. Sprays and Powder (inhaling sunscreen can pose extra risks)
2. Fragrance (allergies and reproductive problems)
3. Sunscreen with bug repellent (too much pesticide in your body)

Here are some tips to remember when you should wear your sunscreen.
1. Avoid midday sun - between 10am and 4pm.
2. Seek shade - cover up with a hat, sunglasses, shirt or an beach umbrella.
3. Reapply often - 15 minutes before going out in the sun and after you go swimming

Here are the top Sunscreens that I know of:

OR CVS with zinc oxide or walgreen with zinc oxide for the face, nose and ears are great products too.

Tip: Keep a small bottle of sunblock in your car. I was in traffic for about an hour going to the beach during the weekend and I got sun burn on my left side shoulder and arm because of the sun beaming down through n that side of my driver window.

Energy Tips

You want more energy, follow these steps of rules.

1. Have breakfast. Someone said in the past, "The most important meal of the day is breakfast." This will wake you up in the morning and warm your stomach up to recharge.

2. Eat every three to four hours. A small light snack throughout the day can kee your blood sugar and energy levels stable.

3. Fill up on more Fiber. Fiber has a time-releasing effect on carbs, so they enter your bloodstream at a slow and steady pace, giving your energy staying power.

4. Fuel your brain with Omega-3s. These essential fatty acids play a role in keeping brain cells healthy and helping you feel mentally alert. Fatty fish (tuna and salmon), walnuts and canola oils.

5. Stay hydrated. Water makes up the majority of your blood and other body fluids. Dehydration can cause blood to thicken, forcing the heart to pump harder to carry blood to your cells and organs and resulting in fatigue. So, drink up.

6. Splash some water on your face or take a shower. Water therapy to successfully increase your energy.

7. Turn on some tunes. Listening to music is very effective ways to change your mood. Dance and boogie.

8. Get your exercise in. It has been proved to help you fall asleep faster at bedtime, spend more hours in deep sleep, and wake up less often throughout the night.

Voots

Voots are tablets supplements for 3 full servings of fruits and vegetables in each servings of 2 tarts. This is a great easy way to get your full servings in one day and the best part they taste like candy. Not bad to get in your vegetables in. Weight Loss Pills

There are so many weight loss pills out there on the market that are not approved by the FDA. The way I see it, if is not approved, it's not worth taking it. Sure there are pills that can help you and help you loosing weight but if you doctor doesn't prescribe it, you know it's not good for you heart.

Also, the side effects on of these pills are hoariness. The MyAlli pill, I heard that you run to the bathroom a lot. That would be hard to take, if you work in an office and you are in the meet or can't go anywhere cause you don't know where are the nearest bathrooms are. Hoodia, a pill that cut down on cravings, please sounds like the pill is telling you what to do instead of you being under control of your body. The Phentermine Pill, (someone comment from yesterday article), I research that they can hurt you heart and not very effect. Sorry, seller but I only have one heart and the list of heart out there are too long and I want to stick it out with this one. Plus, remember some of these pills due hurt your stomach and liver, you only have one of those.

In my opinion 'DON'T TAKE IT'. If you cut back on junk food and cut down on high fat foods. Eat plenty of vegetables and lean protein and get exercise. Just get moving. Walk, Dance, do some gardening. You'll get there. Not overnight, but you didn't gain it overnight either.

If you are taking these pills, please, please talk to your doctor and ask them. They didn't go to medical school for 10 year for nothing. They do have the knowledge than we do. Even ask your health insurance advisor, if your medical care cover Nutrition Dietitians advisor for you health. BE SAFE!
